So Speed Street is this weekend...its a free concert, so the only things you need to buy is your alchohol and your food...and gas to get all the way up to Charlotte...

i swear, if someone was doing research on music appreciation or popular websites or basically anything but cabarrus county schools and they could only use the school's computers , they would FAIL miserably

i can see why myspace and other wierdo sites are blocked, but playlist.com and youtube are vital treatments for beating classroom boredom!!!!

there are students who write stories on music here in journalism class who might need lyrics to a song to prove the point of a feature story or a person who wants to reference a video or put a clip of a video in another video or just watch a funny video

so if you're a girl you've walked into stores like forever 21 and rue 21

have you tried on tops with that stupid band of fabric around the bottom? they are so weird...it's just like a band wrapped around the bottom part of the top and it looks good on the rack, but if you are an actual size you look frumpy?!!!

designers need to start making clothing that flows and doesn't abruptly stop at the waist like a belt or bandage!!

So.....

MY BANDS GOIN' TO THE GORILLA PRODUCTION BATTLE OF THE BANDS FINALS!!! We played with several other excellent bands, as a matter of fact the runner up (or second place whatever you wanna call it) played their first show last night and they were really good, they were The Last Secret so you should definitely check them out. I was relieved to say the least that we were not the only metal band there. Stick To The Trenches played there last night as well and they came up in third place. As a matter of fact we plan on booking some more shows with them come summer. You should check them out as well. They may not have any songs on their Myspace though. They told us last night that they were planning on trashing all the songs they played last night and writing new ones. The camaraderie there last night was great. Everyone was so supportive of all the bands and the bands supported the others too. Our bass player learned 5 songs in two weeks. I am so proud of him, he did phenomenal. I was standing in the crowd when the judges were judging the crowd response and I just felt chills when the judge said "and our next band, Bring Forth The Body!!" and I was blown away by the wall of screaming, cheering and just flat-out chaos that ensued. Three months of hard work, dedication and labor resulted in AJ's (our screamer) hand being raised. Now were on to the finals in or around June were we will be playing against some even more amazing bands. I know no-one will probably read this but if you do...thanx a butt-load for coming out and supporting us, and even if you didn't come out but supported us anyway, this goes out to you as well.

Thrash Is Not Trash!

Okay....I am personally so sick and tired of people trashing my music and this genre that I have fallen in love with. And the genre I am talking about is death-metal. Most people in their blind ignorance will say that it is not music, that it doesnt have a beat they can dance to (who cares if you can dance to it?)and that the screaming and stuff is stupid. Let me ask you something. How can you convey the morbidness, and ferocity of the lyrics of your traditional deathmetal song by singing it in clean vocals? It would sound so out of place compared to the style of this type of music.

Now I ask you, define music. The definition of music has been tossed around and been debated since the middle ages. By definition music means "an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, harmony, and color". Metal is all about rhythm and instrument wise ones rhythm is referred to as "chops". A sub-genre of metal referred to as melodic death-metal has perhaps (at times) the most beautiful harmonies I have ever heard. At times I have experienced goosebumps because of the beauty of a harmony.

That and the epicness of a really good breakdown. At times my catharsis in life can be a breakdown, which is usually the climax of a song and the release of such anger in a song helps me. And you wanna' hear masters of rhythm with amazing chops? Then check out Emmure. They have perhaps the most masterful rhythm techniques I have ever heard.
So next time you say "Metal is stupid, I can't dance to it" think about what I would say about lets say...rap. "Thats your preference not mine" and I won't tell you my opinions bc I respect your ideas concerning rap. So don't tell me yours.

Road To Revolution Live At Milton Keynes

I've had the Linkin park Road to Revolution Cd/Dvd that was recorded during the bands annual Projekt Revolution festival tour for a while now but i never really got the chance to watch it, until last night....And i'll honestly have to say that it was one of the best shows that Linkin Park has ever played live. The band was covered from very good camera angles, the sound was loud and clear, and the band played to its best ability. The one thing that didn't help this great performance was the wierd piano version of "pushing me away". I think they should have stuck to the original way of the song.

Beware the stereotype is a local new band who is just getting started, they have already been signed by a record company called Tragic Hero who has signed bands like Alesana and many more. The band consist of 4 members who live in Harrisburg NC, Jesse Brown, ans sister Gabby Brown, Justin H and Andrew Monday. Their band has a meet and greet thursday March 26 at the hot topic in concord mills, it starts at 6 and they will be selling merchandise and giving away cd's with a sample of there new stuff. Their music is a mixture of techno, rap , and screamo. With Jesse doing screams, Andrew& Justin rapping and Gabby singing.

Avenged Sevenfold concert

So Avenged Sevenfold is coming to Asheville on the 28th of this month...And i really want to go to their concert. For those who don't know who they are, they are a metalcore band from California formed in 1998. Papa Roach and Buckcherry will also be performing. Papa Roach a alt-metal band and Buckcherry a rock/pop band. It's expected to be a pretty good concert and my friends are going so Im hoping i get to go :)

Do You Idiots Not Know What A Genre Is?

Okay, so my band Bring Forth The Body recently played a show in Mount Pleasant, NC at their high school about two weeks ago. We play deathcore which is a mixture of hardcore and deathmetal. Well anyways after we were done with our set we went and chilled in the lobby with two of the guys from another band called Amesty. While we were out there we overheard some little prissy girl's phone conversation. "I came out here to hear some good music not any of this screamo crap" and Beau, our other lead guitarist, was like "Do you not know what a genre is?" God it infuriates me when people are completely ignorant about what they're talking about. Lets set the record straight. Screamo is a genre where the singer screams, AND (get this) sings! Oh bet you didnt know that, and half the done it is not usually done tastefully. Your probably thinking "ugh, it takes no talent to scream" but oh it takes more skill than you think, especially if you want to preserve your voice. Now about the music instruments themselves....compare your average metal guitarist to your current pop star idol.... the metal dude will blow them out of the water....but then youll argue "but metals not like catchy or anything". Thats in your opinion and opinion are only good if theyre intelligent so just keep them to yourselves....you sound like an idiot.
